Senior Mining Engineer (Full-time) ref: GMD-HR-FT-SME-2022

Based in the beautiful, historic mining landscape of Cornwall (UK) Global Mine Design Ltd are a forward-looking, modern, technology-focussed mining consultancy that works all over the world.

We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our team. Someone who understands the importance of strategic mine planning and the need for responsible resource management.

We want to know that you are:

• Genuinely interested in the mining industry and how we can collectively evolve it to a greener future
• Willing to mentor our junior staff (including our student interns) and help develop their skills and enthusiasm for their careers
• Able to develop the mine planning and design nature of GMD’s current and future portfolio of projects
• Conscientious and mindful of the challenges that the mining industry faces in relation to climate change and minimising environmental impact
• Excited to demonstrate your skills to GMD clients and associates
• Respectful of, and able to work with, people of all ages, races, genders, and sexuality

Your experience should be based around optimisation of mine plans and designs. We are keen for someone who can demonstrate:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, or significant work experience combined with a lesser qualification
• Superior skills in operating mine design software – particularly Deswik
• Exposure to a variety of orebodies, mining methods, working environments and cultures
• Extensive experience in production planning and scheduling, ventilation, backfill, and geotechnical concerns
